Petroleum Wholesale, L.P.(PWI) is a family owned business that started in 1973 as a two-station jobbership in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
By 1980 Petroleum Wholesale has grown to encompass 40 retail gasoline stations when it purchased a 50-station Diamond Shamrock jobbership in Houston, Texas. With this acquisition, Petroleum Wholesale moved its base of operation to Houston, Texas in 1980. The company has been headquartered in Texas since 1980.
2004 marked Petroleum Wholesale’s entrance into Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming and California with the purchase of distributions rights and several retail locations from a large Western States jobber, Tri-Valley Distributing based in Heber City, Utah.
Petroleum Wholesale continued its western expansion later that year and into 2005 by acquiring assets of Holt Oil Company based in St. George, Utah, Sperry Oil Company in Delta, Utah and Terry Oil Company in Richfield Utah. These assets included retail, wholesale distribution and bulk plants (which were later sold).
In 2006 Petroleum Wholesale made another large acquisition in Utah by purchasing real estate and distribution rights from Peterson Oil Company in Salt Lake Utah.
Today Petroleum Wholesale is a full service petroleum company offering branded and wholesale gasoline, diesel, common carrier fuel distribution business services, cardlock and retail convenience store products throughout a ten state region in the Southwestern United States.
